The zBlackBox 2500HD TMP is a two-camera dash cam built for trucks, taxis and fleet vehicles. It is wired into the vehicle instead of plugged into a socket, and the memory card sits behind a locked metal cover. The road, the cabin, the speed and the GPS position are all on record, whoever is driving.

Most dash cams stop the moment someone pulls a plug or a memory card. Here there is no plug in the 12V socket to pull out, and whoever holds the key decides who can get at the recordings. If the vehicle loses power in a collision, a super capacitor keeps the camera running for a short time so the moments around the impact are saved.

How your installer connects the built-in hard-wire kit decides when the camera runs. On an ignition-switched circuit it records whenever the vehicle is running; on constant power it keeps recording while parked as well. Either way, it switches the camera off if the vehicle's voltage drops, to protect the battery. We recommend having it fitted by a professional installer or auto electrician.

A 120° road lens and a 170° ultra-wide cabin lens sit at opposite ends of one compact unit and record at once, so both videos line up to the second. After dark, a light sensor switches on four infrared LEDs that light the cabin without distracting the driver, and a built-in microphone records sound unless you switch it off.

Loop recording keeps the latest hours on the card, while files saved by the G-sensor or the FORCE button are protected. On a Windows PC, the included software plays both videos side by side with your route on a map, your speed and a G-force graph. There is no Wi-Fi, no app and no subscription.
